Northwest Battle Buddies makes a hude impact on the lives of Veterans every day by pairing them with highly trained service dogs that provide comfort, stability, and support. Through our Joyfully Giving program, we are honored to help sponsor one of these incredible future service dogs and support the mission of creating hope, healing, and connection for veterans in our community.

The special pup currently stealing hearts is Iroh, a growing service dog in training with a personality as big as his paws.

At just five months old and already 51 pounds, Iroh is quickly growing into a sweet, goofy, and affectionate companion. According to the Northwest Battle Buddies team, “Iroh is now about 5 months old, 51 pounds, and growing into a sweet, goofy, affectionate pup.”

His foster family says he loves people, enjoys being around other animals, and rarely barks. He is full of personality and constantly learning new skills that will help prepare him for his future role supporting a veteran living with PTSD.

“Iroh now knows sit, down, kiss, hug, and place,” the team shared. “He loves swimming, trying to play with ducks, and always having something in his mouth to hold. His foster says he is a big goofball in the best way.”

While his playful side shines through, the progress he is making in training is incredibly meaningful. Every command learned, every confidence-building experience, and every milestone brings him one step closer to changing someone’s life.

“Iroh is doing great and continues to build the confidence, obedience, and personality that will support his future role as a PTSD service dog.”

Programs like Northwest Battle Buddies create lasting impact not only for veterans, but for families and communities as well.
